During 9 lessons, we will support you in understanding the following:Introductions and Overviews - a Program Welcome
The Defense System and the Nuts and Bolts of Polyvagal Theory
The Sensory System and Barriers to Change
During this lesson, we will teach you how to use sensory observation as an assessment tool, and, from there, how to connect somatic awareness to cognitive change. We will show you how to bridge biology and psychology using targeted exercises, then show you how this approach and technique can be applied in practice.
Relationships and Attachment Dynamics
We dig into attachment dynamics to provide a wider view of how we build safe connections. We will play with what happens in interactions which come from a defense system orientation within the attachment model. We will demonstrate how to utilize conflict and defense as an opportunity for client growth. And we will introduce exercises for building somatic skills such as proximity, posture, and gesture.
Projections, Assumptions and Re-enactment Patterns
This lesson will explore the archetypal patterns we play and the stories that we tell ourselves. We will illuminate these elements from both a somatic and a formative lens. We will also show you practical exercises and techniques to hold the whole story pattern for your clients. You will have the opportunity to apply integrative concepts to cases from a larger framework.
Cultivating the Active Witness as a Practitioner
Creating a relationship with the interior self and the external world. We teach you - and show you through practical exercises - how to develop and maintain dual awareness and witness consciousness. We show you how to center within circles: self to self, self to God, self to primary circle and self to world.
Case Conceptualization and the Developmental Lens
Relationship Ethics: Client and Practitioner
Holding the tension of opposites and understanding projective material. We demonstrate the relationship between somatic proximity and the nuances of the boundaries in a therapeutic and coaching setting. We highlight the beliefs which impact how closely (or not) we connect to topics, intimacy, conflict and to resourcing.

Frequently asked questions
The Somatic Mentorship Program is designed to enhance your use of both known and new concepts. We offer education through an expanded framework , and offer a developmental view of our living wholeness. We approach the delivery and application of techniques through an integrative lens, and mentoring and case reviews will deepen your knowledge and add practical applications for clinical practice.
Each lesson has a Resource associated with it: a primer on the background of the topic and an overview of the concepts and topics which will be discussed during each live lesson.
Our community space contains forums for questions - whether from your mentors, of from your fellow participants. Collaborative support will aid in your immersion into and comprehension of each topic as it is presented to you, both in the community resources and the live lesson.
We designed the Somatic Mentorship Program for existing coaches and therapists who may or may not have had training in these concepts and topics. The only prerequisite to registration is that you are a coach or therapist working in clinical practice (or wishing to return to clinical practice).
This Program will be clinically-based, shared to a joint community of coaches and therapists. Some of the language may be new to each field. We will integrate our fields, drawing from both as a way to convey concepts of theory and practice. We have designed the content to be of value for coaches and therapists of all skills and training backgrounds, and there is plenty of support available throughout if you need additional help with the material.
If you are unsure as to whether this Program is for you, send us a message and we'll help you decide.
The Somatic Mentorship Program is an ongoing supervision and mentorship container which offers collaborative learning for existing professionals. It is designed as further education for those who are already coaches and therapists - and it is also intended to build a bridge between two specific therapeutic fields, creating a conversation between them founded on somatics, somatic practices and developmental and attachment theories.
This differs from Trauma + Somatics (also co-founded by Will Rezin) which is open to all, and offers education in the nervous system, threat responses and becoming trauma-informed. If you are not yet an existing coach or therapist, but the Somatic Mentorship Program is of interest to you, we strongly recommend exploring Trauma + Somatics to gain a foundational awareness of trauma and somatic principles.
The Somatic Mentorship Program is not a certification course, it is an educational one. You will learn techniques and theory from the realms of neuro-psychology, behavioral dynamics, attachment styles, nervous system regulation and polyvagal theory and more. You will complete exercises and have access to resources which will transform your understanding of human experience, and the healing profession.
Completion of this Program will empower you to place somatics at the heart and foundation not just of your professional practice, but the way you live your life and contemplate both healing and being human.
